Lots of fans say Emily was their first doll. Plenty of others missed the one they wanted when it sold out. This Corpse Bride doll is for both. We needle felted Emily in wool, from her pale blue face to the torn hem of her wedding dress. She was made to order for one person. We don't keep ready dolls. Your Emily starts with your message.

Who Emily is

Corpse Bride is the 2005 stop-motion film by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson, nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Helena Bonham Carter voices Emily. Victor (Johnny Depp) practices his wedding vows in a dark forest and slips the ring onto what he takes for a tree root. It's Emily's finger. She rises from the ground, a bride murdered by the man she trusted, and takes her new husband down to the Land of the Dead. A sarcastic maggot lives in her head. By the end she lets Victor go and turns into a cloud of butterflies. Sad, sweet and a bit creepy, which is why fans love her.

How we made her

Her face, skin and dress are felted wool. The eyes are huge and pale yellow-green, under thin worried brows, with long lashes and red lips. Her hair is long and wavy, blue mixed with black curls, and a little tiara of blue roses sits on top.

The bones show where they do in the film: on the arm that holds the bouquet and on one leg, right above her lilac socks and white heels. The veil is a cobweb of thin white wool. The hem falls apart into a ragged lace of holes trailing on the floor. She stands on her own, and her arms bend, so she can press a hand to her cheek or hold her roses at her waist.

Your Emily

  • Any height you have in mind
  • Your colours: a softer or deeper blue, more black in her hair
  • Poseable arms and legs on a wire frame
  • Victor to stand next to her (the price is per doll)

Send us a picture of the Emily you see in your head and tell us what matters most. You get photos of the finished doll before it ships. A Corpse Bride doll like this starts from $415, and the quote is free.

More of our custom character dolls and toys from animated films are a click away, and our felted angel and devil dolls show another side of wool. We're an independent studio, not official Warner Bros.

Emily is a needle-felted doll. Her face, skin and wedding dress are wool, worked by hand until the shape holds. That gives her the soft, slightly fuzzy look of an art doll rather than a smooth vinyl figure. The veil is thin white wool, so loose it looks like cobweb. Her long hair mixes blue and black strands.

  • Big pale yellow-green eyes, red lips, long lashes
  • A tiara and a bouquet of small blue roses
  • Bone-white skeleton parts on one arm and one leg
  • Lilac socks and white heels

She's made for a shelf more than for hugs: the veil and the lace hem are delicate. For your doll we match the colours to your picture. Poseable legs on a wire frame can go in on request, too.

A Corpse Bride doll usually takes 2-4 weeks, with a small reserve for the surprises handwork brings.

Felting is slow. Wool goes on layer by layer, and the face takes the longest: the eyes have to sit at the right height and the brows at the right sad angle, or she stops looking like Emily. The torn hem takes patience too, because every hole is made by hand.

You get photos of the finished doll before it ships. If you need her by a set date, tell us in your first message.

We ship worldwide. Once Emily leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country.

Halloween is her season, so order early if she's meant for October 31. December is the slowest month for the post. For Christmas, order by November 1. More ideas are on our custom Christmas plush page.

She makes a good gift for a Tim Burton fan, a goth wedding or an anniversary. Tell us the date, and we'll say straight away whether felting and shipping fit.

We've made toys and dolls to order since 2009. Before Emily ships, we check that she stands steady and that the veil and hem are intact.

You see photos of your doll before she's packed and can ask for changes then. That's the moment to say if her hair should be bluer or her veil longer.

If she arrives and you don't love her, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
