A mom wrote to us with an unusual request. Her daughter had a favorite picture book, How the Little Devil Wanted to Become an Angel (in Russian, «Как чертёнок хотел ангелом стать»), and she wanted its characters for real. So we made them: angel and devil dolls, needle-felted from wool, two little devils and one small angel.
None of them came off a shelf. Every doll here was made to order for that one girl, from the book she knew by heart.
Two little devils
Both devils have olive-brown felted skin, pointed ears, black horns and a mess of ginger curls on top. One wears navy dungarees and bright blue shoes. He has violet eyes and two buck teeth, and he looks a little worried about something. The other one is neater: a blue shirt with a white collar, navy trousers, cream shoes and a thin tail with a ginger tuft at the end. His eyes are pale blue and he's almost smiling.
And one angel
The angel is a girl with a big cloud of curly honey-blond hair, a fringe and a pink hair tie. Her face, hands and bare feet are sculpted smooth, so she looks softer and more doll-like than the fuzzy devils next to her. She wears a cream felted dress, and her wings are cream wool too, with every feather shaped by hand.
On the book cover the little devil already has white wings behind him. Put the three dolls together and you can almost see how the story goes.
Your book, your characters
Picture books are full of characters nobody ever turned into toys. If your child has one, send us the cover and a few pages with the hero, and tell us who matters most. We'll work out the faces, the clothes and the small things a kid will check first, like horns, a tail or the shape of the wings. You see photos of the finished dolls before they ship.
The price is per doll, so a set like this one is three dolls.
We're an independent studio, not connected to the book's author or publisher. These dolls were a one-off made for one family.

These dolls are needle-felted from wool. Each head, body and outfit is shaped by poking loose wool with a barbed needle until it turns firm. That's how the devils got their chubby cheeks, the creases over their eyebrows and their slightly fuzzy look.
- Felted wool for the skin, clothes, wings and the tuft on the tail
- Glossy eyes, violet for one devil and pale blue for the other two dolls
- Curly hair for the ginger devil tops and the angel's blond curls
- Smooth sculpted face, hands and feet for the angel, small hard horns for the devils
We can make them any size you need, and wire in the arms is possible if you want to pose them. Say so at the start.
A felted character doll usually takes 2–4 weeks.
Felting is slow work. A face like these devils' is built up layer by layer, and the eyes, ears and brows are set by hand until the expression matches the book. Wings take their own time, feather by feather.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If the dolls are for a birthday, tell us the date in your first message.
Once the dolls are ready, shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post slows down, so add a few days.
Want them under the tree? Order by November 1.
Before anything ships you get photos of the finished dolls. Hold them up next to the book and compare: hair color, the horns, the wings. If something should change, tell us. They go out only after you say yes.
We've been making toys to order since 2009. Book characters are a tough test, because a child knows every picture and will spot a wrong detail in a second.
That's why you see the dolls in photos first, while a curl or a shade can still be fixed.
If they arrive and you don't love them, you get a full refund within 14 days. No long explanations needed.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
