You probably know the picture. A fluffy white owlbear sits there with huge yellow eyes and its paws up, plainly terrified, under the caption "Why do you always fight a scared owlbear? Because they are a flightless bird." We sewed that look as an owlbear plush in 2025. Like every toy here, it was made to order by hand, not picked off a shelf.
The monster that only wants a hug
The owlbear is one of the oldest Dungeons & Dragons monsters: half owl, half bear, eight to ten feet tall and famous for its crushing hug. Gary Gygax added it in the 1975 Greyhawk supplement, inspired by a cheap plastic toy from Hong Kong. It has shown up in every edition since, and in 2023 the druid Doric turned into one in Honor Among Thieves.
The meme flips all that. The beast every party fears looks like it just heard a noise in the dark. Players call the owlbear their favorite D&D monster, and this version is the one you'd rather comfort than fight. Our own take on it: even a scary owlbear mostly wants a hug and a cookie.
How we sewed it
The body is a round, sitting shape in soft white faux fur, so it reads as owl on top and bear underneath. The ears have grey tips. The eyes are big yellow circles with black pupils, set wide apart for that startled stare, and a small black beak sits between them.
The arms carry a fringe of grey scalloped feathers, the closest a flightless bird gets to wings. One paw is raised with the pads facing out, the other hangs with its black claws showing. The feet have black paw pads and claws too.
Your own owlbear
Maybe your party has an owlbear cub that followed you home, or a druid who spends half the session as one. Send us a meme, a sketch or a character drawing. We'll agree on the colors and size with you and send photos of the finished toy before it ships. An owlbear like this starts from $370, and the quote is free.
More meme toys are in Popular Toys, next to our This Is Fine dog. For another owl-and-beast mix, see the Griffin plush.
We're an independent studio and make fan pieces to order. Not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast or Dungeons & Dragons.
The owlbear is covered in soft white faux fur, thick enough to hide the seams and make it look properly fluffy. The ear tips are grey, and the feather fringe on the arms is grey faux fur, cut into scallops so it reads as wing feathers.
The eyes are bright yellow with black pupils, and the beak, claws and paw pads are black. The body is stuffed firm enough to sit up on its own on a desk or a shelf next to your dice.
All our materials are premium and hypoallergenic.
- Colors matched to the meme or drawing you send

An owlbear like this one usually takes 2-4 weeks. That includes a few spare days, because handmade work sometimes needs them.
The pattern comes first, then the body, arms and feather fringe. The face goes on last, because the scared look depends on how big the eyes are and how far apart they sit.
Before it ships, you get photos of the finished toy and can ask for changes. If it's for a birthday or a game night, put the date in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once the owlbear leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the carrier and customs.
Before the holidays the post slows down and parcels can take longer. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1.
A scared owlbear is an easy gift for a Dungeon Master or a player who keeps rolling badly. Tell us when it has to arrive, and we'll check that making and shipping fit your date before you pay.
We've made toys to order since 2009. A meme toy only works if people recognize it at once, so the eyes, the raised paw and the grey feathers have to match the picture you sent.
You see photos of the finished owlbear before it's packed, and you can ask for changes. If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
The same promise covers every toy we make, from fantasy monsters to copies of a childhood toy.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
