Everyone's favorite Baba Kapa from the Luntik cartoon, now a soft toy. That was the whole announcement when we finished her in 2013, and honestly it still covers it. This Luntik plush of Granny Kapa was made to order. We don't stock cartoon characters. Each one is sewn for the person who asks, from the stills they love.
Who Baba Kapa is
Luntik and His Friends (Moonzy in English) has been running since 2006, made by the Melnitsa animation studio. Luntik is a small purple creature who fell from the Moon and hatched on Earth. Baba Kapa is the kind old bee who takes him in and becomes his granny. She bakes pies and makes jam.
A lot of grown-ups watched the five-minute episodes as kids. Some now play them for their own children, and some use them to practice Russian. Either way, Granny Kapa is the one people remember warmly.
How we sewed her
Kapa is round and stacked, like a little snowman in bee stripes, so the build matters more than the outfit:
- yellow fleece segments with brown curly plush stripes
- a pale face with painted rosy cheeks, a sculpted nose and an open, chatty smile
- big brown eyes under a tuft of curly white hair, with two brown antennae poking through
- a yellow and brown kerchief tied at the neck, the way a granny wears it
- red mittens, small white wings and stubby brown feet
One arm is thrown out wide, as if she's calling Luntik in for pie.
Your Kapa, or anyone from the meadow
The source didn't record her size, so we won't guess. Yours can be shelf-sized or big enough to hug, just tell us on the order form. Send the episode stills you like best and we'll agree on fabrics and details before we start. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships.
SKAZKODROM is an independent studio, not connected to Melnitsa. We sew one-off fan toys. Fond of cartoon bees? Our Maya the Bee plush is another one, and there are more toys from animated films. Here's why so many adults order nostalgia plush for themselves.
Kapa is built from soft, round pieces, so we pick fabrics that hold a shape and still feel good to squeeze.
- Bright yellow fleece for the body segments, arms and hood
- Brown curly plush for the stripes and the kerchief
- Curly white faux fur for her granny hair
- Pale plush for the face, with painted blush, a sculpted nose and glass-look eyes
- Red fleece mittens, white fabric wings, brown feet and antennae
The filling is soft and hypoallergenic. We use faux fur only, never real fur. Colors can follow your favorite episode. On request we can add a sound module, wire in the arms so she holds a wave, or an embroidered name.
A character like Baba Kapa usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
We start with the pattern, drawn from cartoon stills. Her body is a stack of rounded segments, and each one has to sit on the next without tipping. Then come the stripes, the kerchief and the mittens. The face goes last: blush, nose and eyes placed by hand, because a few millimeters decide whether she looks like Kapa or a stranger.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. Need her by a date? Say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave extra time.
Kapa makes a sweet surprise for someone who grew up on Luntik, or for a family that watches it together now. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from your date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before she ships you get photos of the finished toy. We pack her so the hair, wings and antennae arrive in shape.
We've been sewing custom plush since 2009. Cartoon characters from Russian TV come up a lot, because the shop versions are hard to find or look nothing like the screen.
You agree on the details with us before we sew, and you see photos of the finished Kapa before she ships. If you still don't love her, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Only have a blurry screenshot? Send it anyway. We'll ask about the rest.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
