People often ask us for a character from a child's favourite cartoon, as a gift nobody else will have. This tiger cub plush is one of those. He's Lala, the striped cub with the wild mane, and we sewed him by hand, made to order for one customer. We posted him in September 2013.
A toy like this can stay with a kid for years. Some end up as a lucky mascot for life.
Who Lala is
Lala comes from Yugo & Lala, a Chinese computer-animated film released in 2012 and directed by Wang Yunfei. In Russia it was released as Masha's Adventures in Wonderland. Yugo is a ten-year-old village girl who studies martial arts. She meets Lala and ends up in Animal Paradise, a kingdom of animals, where she has to stop a villain's plan. In the film Lala is a liger, half lion and half tiger, born from a magic stone. That explains the look: tiger stripes and a lion's mane on one small round cub. A sequel came out in 2014.
How we built him
- A shaggy mane of brown faux fur that sticks out in every direction
- A soft tan body with brown stripes on the arms, legs, cheeks and back
- Big shiny brown eyes, a large brown nose and pink blushing cheeks
- A small pink tongue and arms held out for a hug
- Pink paw pads with toes, and a long thin tail ending in a fluffy tuft
He stands on his own feet. His head is big for his body, like a cub's should be.
Your own cartoon character
Maybe your kid loves a character you can't find in any toy store. Send us a few stills from the cartoon or a drawing, tell us the size you want, and we'll sew one for them. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. More characters we've made: the lion cub from the Soviet cartoon and the rest of our toys from animated films.
We're an independent studio. This is a handmade fan piece, not an official product of the film's makers.
Lala is mostly smooth premium plush in a warm tan. It's soft to the touch and shows the stripes clearly.
- Shaggy brown faux fur for the mane and the tip of the tail
- Tan plush for the head, body, arms, legs and tail
- Brown fabric stripes sewn onto the arms, legs, cheeks and back
- Pink plush for the paw pads, a soft brown nose, shiny brown eyes
The filling is hypoallergenic. It's packed firm enough for him to stand, while the tummy stays soft to squeeze. Want a different colour for the mane, or a child's name embroidered on him? Say so when you write to us, since it changes the pattern.
A cub like Lala usually takes 2β4 weeks to make.
First we draw a pattern from your pictures. Then the body, the arms and the stripes, which are cut and placed one by one. The mane takes the longest: the faux fur is trimmed around the face so the eyes and cheeks stay visible.
The face goes on last, by hand. The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If there's a birthday or another date to hit, tell us when you order.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave extra time.
Cartoon toys like this one often go to kids as presents. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from the day. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before he leaves the studio, you get photos of the finished toy. We pack him so the mane arrives fluffy, not flattened.
We've made custom plush since 2009. Kids know their favourite character down to the last stripe, and they'll spot a wrong nose or a missing tuft on the tail.
So you see photos of your toy before it ships. If you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Want Yugo too, as a doll to go with the cub? Ask before we start. A pair is easier to plan as one order.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
