Baby in Pink

This is a soft cloth doll. Head, body, arms and legs are fabric, and you can see the stitched lines on her legs when the dress is off. The face is painted by hand right on the cloth.

• White bloomers, white shoes with ribbon ties, a doll stand

The filling is hypoallergenic. We can also put wire inside so the arms and legs hold a pose, add a sound module that plays a recorded voice, or embroider a name and date on the dress. Ask in your first message, since these go in while we sew.

A doll like this one usually takes 2–4 weeks.

We start with your picture and work out how a baby face turns into paint on cloth. Small children have soft features and few lines, so getting the cheeks and eyes right takes patience. Then come the pattern, the body, the hair and the clothes.

The time frame includes a reserve for handmade surprises. If the doll is for a birthday or a christening, tell us the date when you write, and we'll say honestly whether it fits.

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Mail slows down around the holidays, so add a few extra days then.

To time a gift, count back from the date: making time plus shipping. For Christmas, order by November 1.

You see photos of the finished doll before we pack her. The hat, shoes and dress travel on the doll, packed so they arrive the way they looked in those photos.

We've been sewing custom toys since 2009. A portrait doll of a baby is hard to get right: little faces change fast, and parents notice every detail.

So we agree on the face, hair and clothes before we start, and you approve photos of the finished doll before she ships. If you still don't love her, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
