Some birthdays and anniversaries end in a zero, and the gift has to match. Russians call that kind of date a jubilee. For one, we were asked to sew these two: couple portrait dolls of a married couple, husband and wife, each made to order from photos. We posted them in February 2024.

Two faces, painted by hand
Three things matter most on a portrait doll: the likeness, the details of the look, and a face painted by hand. Here it all comes together.

An anniversary gift for two

Portrait dolls are usually 30-50 cm (12-20 in) tall. The price is per doll: from $390 each, and the quote is free. You see photos of the finished dolls before they ship. Take a look at the wedding dolls, the brother and sister dolls, or all our portrait dolls.
Head and hands are sewn from skin-tone fabric, and the face is painted by hand: eyes, brows, cheeks and lips. The hairstyle follows the person's own.
The clothes are small real garments, not printed on. His jacket has a working zip. Her dress has turquoise bands and rhinestones along the neckline. Both dolls come with white stands.
For your pair we copy from your photos:

One portrait doll usually takes 2-4 weeks. That leaves some spare time, because handwork doesn't always go to plan.
We start with the faces and check them against your photos. Then come the bodies, the hair and the clothes. For a pair, tell us your date and we'll confirm the timing with the quote.
You get photos of the finished dolls before they ship, and you can ask for changes then.
We ship worldwide. Once the dolls leave the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
Holidays slow the post down, and the weeks before Christmas most of all. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1. For a jubilee or an anniversary party, add a few spare days.
