Long fur, done on purpose
Most plush dogs are short and smooth. This one is shaggy all over. The blue faux fur is long-pile, so it moves, sticks up at the crown and hangs over the forehead like a teenager's haircut. Long fur is fussy to sew. Get it wrong and you see a line wherever two pieces meet. Here you don't.
Under the blue sits a second coat: pale grey on the cheeks, white on the muzzle and chest. That's what makes the face read as a dog and not a blue mop.
The eyes do the talking
Big amber eyes, glossy, set low and looking up. A shiny black nose sticks out past the fluff. The ears are tall and blue, with pink inside, and one of them pokes up through the fringe. He sits with his front paws stretched out in front of him, white tips on every foot, and a white-tipped tail curls round behind.

The body, legs and ears are sewn from long-pile faux fur in deep royal blue. It's shaggy on purpose: the fringe, the crown and the back all have loose, messy fur that you can brush or leave wild.
The face and chest use a softer grey and white faux fur, shorter around the muzzle so the nose and mouth keep their shape. The paw tips and the end of the tail are white.

For your dog we pick the colours and fur length from your drawing or photos. Ask about wire in the legs or tail if you'd like them to hold a pose.
A dog like this usually takes 2-4 weeks. That includes a small reserve for handwork surprises.
First comes the pattern. A cartoon dog has to look right from every side, so we work out the head shape, the ears and the paws before any fur is cut.
Long-pile fur adds time. Every seam needs extra care so it doesn't show through the fluff, and the face has to read clearly under all that hair.
You get photos of the finished toy before it ships. If you need it by a certain date, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your dog leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
Holidays slow the post down, Christmas most of all. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1.
A custom dog makes a good birthday present for someone who drew their own character years ago and never saw it in real life. Tell us the date, and we'll say right away whether sewing and shipping fit.
We've been making toys to order since 2009. Long fur is one of the harder materials to get right, so we check the face and the seams before anything else.
You see photos of your dog before it's packed and can ask for changes then. If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
The fringe will still fall into his eyes. That part we can't fix.
