A toy that makes noise
We built him as a toy for a small child to play with, not just look at. The rattle sits inside his round belly, so he answers every shake. The ears have a crinkly layer sewn in, and they rustle when small fingers grab them. Babies tend to love toys that react, and this one reacts from both ends.
The details
Cream fabric with orange-brown giraffe spots covers his head, arms, sides and legs. His belly and muzzle are plain cream, which makes the spots pop. He has round eyes with white rims, two stitched brown nostrils, a thin stitched smile and a short spotted tail that ends in a light-brown tuft. His arms stretch out wide, ready to be held.

His body is soft plush. The head, arms, sides and legs are cream fabric printed with orange-brown giraffe spots, and the belly and muzzle are plain cream for contrast.

The face is stitched: two brown nostrils, a thin smile and round eyes. For yours we can change the colours, the size and the sounds, or leave the rattle out if you'd like a quiet giraffe.
A giraffe like this usually takes 2-4 weeks, with a little spare time built in, because handwork doesn't always keep to a schedule.
Most of the time goes into cutting the spotted pieces so the spots line up across the seams. The rattle goes into the belly and the crinkle layer into the ears before he's closed up. The face comes last.
You get photos of the finished toy before it ships, and you can ask for changes then. If you need him by a birthday or a baby shower, tell us the date in your first message.
