This marmoset plush has a coat that looks like the real animal and a face that clearly doesn't. Golden-brown faux fur with dark streaks, a tail striped brown and grey, and on top of that big round eyes and an open grin with a red tongue. Half wild monkey, half cartoon.
We didn't take him off a shelf. Every toy we sew is made to order, for one person and the animal they have in mind.
A tiny monkey with a big tail
Real marmosets are some of the smallest monkeys around. The common marmoset comes from Brazil, and its body is only about 19 cm long, with an even longer banded tail behind it. That tail can't grab branches the way a spider monkey's does. Marmosets hold on with their claws instead and use the tail for balance.
On our plush the tail is the star. It's long, thick and ringed in dark grey, and it curls up behind him in every photo. The rest:
- shaggy brown faux fur with grey-black streaks, and a grey ruff on the chest
- a tall crest of white and grey faux fur on the head
- a smooth beige face, muzzle and round ears
- a soft white belly patch
- dark brown hands and feet with long separate fingers and toes
The marmoset you're allowed to keep
Plenty of people fell for marmosets as kids and begged for one. Others say it's hard to find a monkey plush that looks like the actual species and not a generic banana-holding toy. A pet monkey is a lot of work. A plush one sits on the bed and asks for nothing.
Tell us which monkey you want: a common or pygmy marmoset, a tamarin, a capuchin. Realistic face or cartoon face like this one, any size, a pose, a bendable tail. If you have photos of a real monkey you know, send them too. You get a free quote first and photos of the finished toy before it ships. A custom marmoset plush like this starts from $370.
More true-to-life animals are in our realistic stuffed animals, and Ika the Monkey is another monkey of ours, a copy of a lost childhood toy. Want a copy of your own pet? See pet stuffed animals.
The marmoset mixes two kinds of fabric: long shaggy fur for the wild-animal coat and smooth soft fabric for the cartoon face.
- Long-pile faux fur in golden brown with dark grey-black streaks for the body, arms, legs and tail
- Grey and white faux fur for the crest on the head, the chest ruff and the rings on the tail
- soft beige fabric for the face, muzzle and ears, and white plush for the belly
- dark brown suede-like fabric for the hands and feet, with every finger and toe sewn separately
- appliqué eyes with highlights and an open mouth with a red tongue
For your monkey we match the fur to the species or to your photos. A wire frame in the tail or limbs, so you can pose them, is possible on request.
A monkey like this usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
First comes the pattern, sized to what you want. Then the sewing: the shaggy body, the ringed tail, and the face with its muzzle, ears, eyes and open mouth.
Small parts like the long fingers and toes take patience. The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. Need it by a certain date? Mention it in your first message.
Once your marmoset is ready, shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. The post slows down around the holidays, so plan a few extra days then.
Want him under the tree? Order by November 1 for Christmas.
Before he ships, you get photos of the finished toy. Check the fur, the face and the tail, and tell us if something should change. He leaves the studio after you say yes.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009. Animals are a big part of that, from realistic wild ones to copies of people's pets and cartoon creatures.
You see your monkey in photos before he's sent. That's the moment to ask for a longer tail, a lighter crest or a different expression.
If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days. No long explanations needed.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
