If you grew up in the 90s, you probably remember weekends glued to a tube TV, waiting for the next episode of Aladdin, Hercules, Chip 'n Dale, Christopher Robin and Pooh. And, of course, the big duck family. This Webby Vanderquack plush is a copy of a DuckTales toy from about thirty years ago, and we sewed it quite recently.

Nobody sells this Webby any more. You won't find her in shops or in old warehouse stock either. So she was made to order, for one person, from photos of the toy they grew up with. That's how every toy on this site starts.

The original, thirty years on

Original 90s Webby plush from DuckTales that we copied: yellow head, pink beak and dress. Recreated to order

This is the old toy. Webby has a tall, round yellow head, a hot-pink beak and green eyes with pink lids and long lashes. She wears a pale pink dress with a pleated skirt and a fluffy yellow hem, plus pink mittens and pink legs with yellow feet. There's even a little light-blue tag on the side of the dress, and we kept that too.

Our copy follows the same shapes and the same colors in faux fur, so it reads as the toy from back then, not a modern redesign.

Why it's this Webby and not a new one

DuckTales first aired in the US in 1987. Kids in Russia met the show on New Year's Day 1991, in the Sunday Disney slot, right next to Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. Webby, Mrs. Beakley's granddaughter, never goes anywhere without her Quacky Patch doll, a little stitched toy that looks just like her.

A new official Webby looks nothing like the one from your childhood. When people talk about a toy from childhood, they mean that exact one, with its odd proportions and slightly crooked smile.

Your toy can come back too

Lost in a move, worn through, given away by a well-meaning parent: send us whatever photos you have, from any angle. Tell us the size, or ask for the same size as the original. You get photos of the finished toy to approve before it ships.

More toys we've brought back are in Lost Toy Replicas, like this childhood puppy sewn from one old photo. From the same show, there's our Scrooge McDuck plush.

We are an independent studio, not official Disney. Every piece is sewn by hand to a private order.

Webby is sewn in faux fur in three colors: bright yellow for the head, the skirt hem and the feet, hot pink for the beak and mittens, and soft pale pink for the dress and legs.

The eyes copy the old ones: green, with black pupils, pink lids and a row of lashes. The small light-blue tag on the dress is there too, because on a replica the small details are what make people say "yes, that's her."

  • Premium, hypoallergenic faux fur and fabrics
  • Soft filling that keeps her huggable
  • Any size, or the same size as your original toy

Want a bow, an embroidered name or a different color? Just ask. We make whatever can be handmade in a soft toy.

A childhood toy replica usually takes 2 to 4 weeks to make.

First we study your photos and match the fabrics and colors. Then comes the pattern: the head shape, the beak, the length of the skirt. After sewing, the face takes the most time, because the eyes and beak decide whether the toy feels like your old one.

Old photos often hide parts of the toy, so we may ask you a few questions along the way. The time includes a small reserve for surprises, which every handmade piece has.

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays, post offices slow down, so allow a little extra time.

A childhood toy makes a great surprise for a birthday or an anniversary, or for a sibling who still remembers fighting over it. Planning one for Christmas? Order by November 1 so it arrives in time.

Before we pack the toy, you get photos of the finished replica to approve. Only after your OK does it go in the box.

We have been sewing custom plush toys since 2009, and bringing back old favorites is one of the things people ask us for most.

You see the toy in photos before shipping and can ask for changes. And if the replica arrives and it isn't the toy you remember, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

A lost childhood toy can't be bought again. That's why we'd rather spend an extra evening matching a beak than send something "close enough."

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
