Arms crossed, hat tilted, eyes half closed. This is our Puss in Boots plush from Shrek, needle felted from orange tabby wool and about 20 cm (8 in) tall. He wears a wide black hat with a red edge and a yellow plume, a thin belt with a sword, and tall black boots with red cuffs. We made him by hand, made to order. Nothing here sits on a shelf waiting for a buyer. Your Puss starts with your message and the picture you send.

The cat from Shrek

Puss in Boots first walked into Shrek 2 in 2004, hired to get rid of the ogre. He ended up as Shrek's loyal friend instead. Antonio Banderas gives him his voice, and the filmmakers borrowed a lot from Zorro. Then there's his famous trick: the huge, sad, pleading eyes that melt anyone holding a sword to his throat. He got his own films, Puss in Boots (2011) and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022).

The old tale behind him is far older than DreamWorks. Charles Perrault wrote it down in 1697, which is why we also keep this cat with our fairy tale toys.

How we felted him

Felting gives a different cat from a sewn plush. The wool is worked with a needle, layer by layer, so the darker stripes on his arms and tail, the cream chest and the white paws are part of the figure itself. A wire frame inside keeps him standing on his own in his boots. Long white whiskers come out of the muzzle, and the green eyes sit under heavy, half-closed lids. That's the "don't mess with me" face, not the pleading one.

The gallery shows him holding the hat to his chest with both paws, plume trailing down. That's the other side of Puss.

Your Puss in Boots

  • The pose you like best: arms crossed, hat in his paws, or sword out
  • Puss as he looks in Shrek 2, or in The Last Wish
  • Another size, or a soft sewn plush in faux fur if you'd rather hug him

Send a still from the film and tell us which moment you want. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. A Puss in Boots like this starts from $365, and the quote is free.

He has felted company here: our felted Findus and a realistic Garfield. More film characters are in toys from animated films. We're an independent studio, not official DreamWorks.

Puss is needle felted from wool. The orange body has darker tabby stripes worked into it, with a cream chest, white paws and long white whiskers. The hat and boots are black wool with red trim, and the plume on the hat is loose yellow wool.

  • Wool, shaped by needle, layer on layer
  • Polymer clay details
  • A wire frame inside, so he stands on his own
  • A thin black belt with a buckle and a small sword

Felted wool is firm and holds fine detail, so a figure like this works best on a shelf or a desk rather than in bed. If you want a cat to hug, we can sew him as a soft plush in faux fur instead.

A felted Puss in Boots usually takes 2-4 weeks, with a small reserve for the surprises handwork brings.

The face takes longest. The eyelids, the muzzle and the angle of the hat decide whether he looks like Puss or like any ginger cat in a costume. The stripes are felted in by hand too, so they can't be rushed.

You get photos of the finished toy before it ships. If you need him by a set date, tell us in your first message.

We ship worldwide. Once Puss leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country.

Holidays slow the post down, and December is the slowest month. For Christmas, order by November 1. More ideas are on our custom Christmas plush page.

He's a good birthday present for a Shrek fan, or for someone who still does the big sad eyes to get their way. Tell us the date, and we'll say straight away whether felting and shipping fit.

We've made toys to order since 2009. Before Puss ships, we check that he stands steady in his boots and that the hat sits at the right angle.

You see photos of your Puss before he's packed and can ask for changes then. That's the moment to say if his eyes should be wider or his orange a shade darker.

If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
