What would Garfield look like if he walked off the comic page and into your kitchen? Probably like this. A realistic Garfield plush, felted from wool, standing on four legs with his tail up and his tongue out.
He isn't from a shop shelf. Every toy we make is made to order, for one person and the version of the character they have in mind.
The comic cat, as a real cat
Jim Davis drew Garfield for a newspaper strip that started on June 19, 1978. The lasagna, the Mondays, Jon Arbuckle, Odie: most of us grew up with at least one of them. On paper Garfield stands on two legs and talks back. Our felted version keeps the face fans know and puts the rest on four paws.
What stayed from the comics:
- the heavy, half-closed eyelids over big round eyes
- a wide sandy muzzle and fat cheeks
- bright orange fur with dark stripes across the forehead, back, legs and tail
What we added for the real-cat look: green glossy eyes, a pink nose, a pink tongue poking out, a pale chest and paws with toe lines. From the side he looks like a well-fed tabby who has just spotted the fridge.
Your Garfield, your way
A lot of people remember one particular Garfield. The one stuck to the car window with suction cups. The old plush from the '80s that got loved flat. Some fans want him chubby and grumpy, others want him lifelike enough to fool the dog.
Tell us which one you mean. Send a comic panel, a screenshot or a photo of an old toy, and say how big and in what pose. We send photos of the finished cat before it ships. (The photos on this page were taken in summer 2018.)
We're an independent studio, so this isn't an official Garfield or Paws, Inc. product. It's a one-off piece made from a fan's wish.

This Garfield is made from natural wool, shaped and felted by hand. Loose wool is firmed with a felting needle until it holds its shape, so he stands on his own four paws.
- Orange wool for the body, with rust-red stripes felted in by hand
- Sandy beige wool for the muzzle, cheeks, chest and paws
- Glossy green eyes under thick orange eyelids
- Pink wool for the nose and the tongue
Felted wool keeps a soft, fuzzy surface but feels firm, closer to a small sculpture than a pillow. It's made for a shelf or a desk. If you'd rather have a squishy Garfield to hug, we can sew him from faux fur instead. Say so at the start, along with the size and pose you want.
A felted Garfield usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
The head takes the longest. The eyelids have to sit low enough to look bored but not asleep, and the cheeks have to be round enough to read as Garfield and not just any ginger cat. Then the body, the legs that carry his weight, the tail and the stripes.
That time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If he's a birthday gift, put the date in your first message.
When your Garfield is finished, shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post gets slower, so leave a few extra days.
Want him under the tree? Order by November 1 for Christmas.
Before he ships, you get photos of the finished cat. Check the stripes, the eyelids and the tongue, and tell us if something should change. He leaves us after you say yes.
We've been making toys to order since 2009. Characters everyone knows are the tricky ones, because fans spot a wrong eyelid at once.
That's why you see your Garfield in photos before he's sent. There's still time to make the cheeks fatter, the stripes darker or the tongue a bit longer.
If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days. No long explanations needed. We'd rather you had a Garfield you're happy with.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
