These two ghost plushies are cute and a little bit crazy. They started as a drawing on a sheet of paper, and we sewed them to order in 2025 for the person who sent it.
The drawing showed a white ghost from the front and from the back, plus a green one with "front" written above it and "15 cm" marked under it. That was the whole brief. Our job was to move every line, every stroke and every bit of mood from paper to fabric, so the ghosts kept the character their author gave them.
Two ghosts, two moods
The white ghost looks like it just saw something it shouldn't have. One huge eye ringed in burgundy, one red eye, a wobbly "H" for a mouth, orange cheeks and a tuft of burgundy cord sticking up from the top. On the back there are the same orange marks as in the drawing.
The green ghost is calmer. Two big black eyes with white highlights and a tiny dot of a nose make it look more like a small alien than a spook. Both have a wavy hem at the bottom, like a sheet, and both stand up on their own.
What a drawing can become
A plush like this works as a gift, as a keepsake of a drawing you don't want to lose, or as a reminder of where an idea came from. It can also be the first step toward your own cartoon: once the characters exist as toys, they're easier to believe in.
Want your drawing to come to life too? Send it to us. Scribbles are fine, notes in the margin help, and if you know the size, write it on the page the way this customer did. Everything here is made to order for one person, so we start from your picture, not from a pattern on a shelf. The price is per ghost: from $420 each, and the quote is free.
More toys sewn from people's pictures are in Plush From Drawings and OC Plush. There is also this purple monster, also drawn first and sewn after.
Both ghosts are sewn from premium soft plush with a velvety, suede-like surface: white for one, light green for the other.
- Embroidered faces: eyes, mouth, cheeks and the nose dot are stitched, not printed or glued
- Orange embroidered marks on the back of the white ghost, placed where the drawing had them
- A tuft of burgundy cord for the white ghost's hair
- A wavy hem along the bottom edge
- Hypoallergenic filling, firm enough for the ghosts to stand
Your character can have other colours, faux fur, a sound module, an embroidered name or a different size. Tell us at the start, because these go in while we sew.
A pair like this usually takes 2–4 weeks.
Most of the thinking happens before the first cut. A drawing is flat, so we work out how the shape should look from the side and from behind, and how big each eye has to be so the face still reads like your picture. Then come the pattern, the sewing and the embroidery.
The time frame has a small reserve for handmade surprises. If the toy is for a birthday or another date, put it in your first message.
Shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post slows down, so leave a few extra days.
A plush sewn from someone's drawing is a good surprise for the person who drew it, whether that's your kid, your partner or a friend who doodles in every meeting. If it's a Christmas present, order by November 1.
Before anything ships, we send you photos of the finished toy. Hold them next to the drawing and tell us if a line should move.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009, and a lot of them started as a drawing like this one.
With a character from a sketch, only the person who drew it really knows how it should look. That's why you see the finished toy in photos before shipping, while a stitch can still change.
If your plush arrives and it doesn't feel like your drawing, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
