This cheerful ghost emoji plush came straight out of a chat window. Someone loved the little ghost from their messages, and in 2014 we sewed it by hand as a real toy, made to order for that one person.
The ghost emoji has been around since 2010, when it joined the Unicode set. It isn't scary at all. It sticks its tongue out, throws its arms up like it's shouting "yay", and stares at you with one small eye and one huge one. That goofy face is why people send it so often, and it's exactly what we wanted to keep.
From a tiny icon to a toy you can hold
An emoji is a few pixels on a screen, flat and seen from the front only. A plush needs a back, sides and a bottom it can sit on. So we gave the ghost a rounded head, a wavy hem like a bedsheet, and two arms that stay raised.
The face is cut from felt: two black eyes of different sizes, a wide black smile and a pink tongue that sticks out from the body. On the back there's a name in black letters, so the toy belongs to one person and no one else.
Your emoji, sewn the same way
Plenty of emoji pillows end up in claw machines. This one is different because it was cut and stitched for one customer, with their own name on it. Pick the emoji you use most, the one that sums up a friend, or the one that's become a running joke between the two of you. Send us a screenshot and tell us what to add: a name, a date, a different colour, a size.
We're an independent studio, not Apple or any other emoji maker. We sew fan versions one at a time, from $315, and the quote is free.
More toys made from little pictures are in Plush Stickers and Plush From Drawings. For a pair of ghosts drawn by hand first, see these ghost plushies.
The ghost is sewn from premium short-pile plush in a soft grey-white, the colour of the emoji. It's smooth and velvety, so the toy feels good to squeeze and the felt face sits flat on it.
- Felt eyes, one small and one large, stitched onto the face
- A black felt smile and a pink felt tongue that sticks out
- A name in black lettering on the back
- Hypoallergenic filling, with a flat base so the ghost sits upright
Your emoji plush can be any size or colour, with faux fur, an embroidered name, a sound module or LED lights inside. Tell us at the start, because all of these go in while we sew.
An emoji plush like this usually takes 2–4 weeks.
The simple look hides some work. We draw a pattern that turns a flat icon into a round toy, check how big each eye and the tongue should be so the face still reads as that exact emoji, then cut, sew and stitch the details by hand.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If the ghost is for a birthday or another date, put it in your first message.
Shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post is slower, so leave a few extra days.
A ghost emoji makes an easy Halloween gift, and an emoji with a name on it works for a birthday or as a joke between friends. If it's a Christmas present, order by November 1.
Before anything ships, we send you photos of the finished toy. Put them next to the emoji on your phone and tell us if something should change.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009, and this ghost from 2014 is one of the early emoji we turned into plush.
With an emoji, everyone knows the face by heart, so a wrong eye size shows at once. That's why you see the finished toy in photos before it leaves the studio, while a stitch can still move.
If your plush arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
