Sometimes you see a toy online and can't stop thinking about it. That's how this black fox plush started. A girl who follows us on VK sent us a message with a photo of a toy she loved and a short list of her own wishes. We took it from there and sewed her fox by hand in 2024.
It's a one-off. We don't keep foxes on a shelf. Each one is made to order from the photo and the notes you send, so yours turns out the way you pictured it.
Faux fur, embroidery and those eyes
The fox is soft faux fur all over, black with a deep navy shine in the light. An emerald green ruff sits around the neck, and the big hind paws are the same green, with dark embroidered pads. The front paws are black with bright orange toe beans. The ears are lined in pink, and a golden crescent glows on the forehead.
The details are done with embroidery and appliqué. Our favorite part is the eyes. They're embroidered in orange, coral and teal, in a pattern, under sleepy half-closed lids. On a dark face they catch your eye from across the room.
Then there's the tail: long, thick and fluffy, with green coming through the black.

This black fox is sewn from faux fur in two colors: black with a navy sheen for the body, head and tail, and emerald green for the neck ruff and the hind paws. The fur is soft and thick, so the fox is nice to hold and keeps its fluffy look on a shelf.
The face and paws are where the handwork shows:
- Patterned eyes embroidered in orange, coral and teal
- A golden crescent on the forehead and pink ear linings
- Orange toe beans on the front paws, dark pads on the green hind paws
- A white chest patch with a small green embroidered sprig
For your fox we can change any of it: the fur colors, the markings, the eye pattern, the size. All fur we use is faux fur.
A fox plush like this usually takes 2-4 weeks. That includes some spare time, because handmade work doesn't always go to plan.
We start by working out the pattern from your photo, then cut the faux fur so the pile runs the right way. The embroidery takes the longest. Eyes and markings are stitched before the head is closed, so they sit just right.
If it's a gift for a date, tell us in your first message. You'll get photos of the finished fox before it ships, and you can ask for changes then.
We ship worldwide. After the fox leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country.
The post is slower around holidays, and slowest in the weeks before Christmas. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1.
A fluffy fox travels well. The fur springs back after the box is opened, and a gentle brush brings the tail back to full volume. If you're giving it for a birthday, add your date when you write to us and we'll tell you right away if it fits.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009. With a toy made from someone else's photo, the fear is that it won't look like the picture you fell for. So we check as we go.
Before the fox is packed, you see photos of it and can ask us to fix anything: a marking, the eyes, the shape of the ears.
If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason. That goes for every toy we make.
