Meet the gallbladder plush who is very proud of his work. He made some stones. All by himself. He shows them to the liver, the liver doesn't get it and sends him away, and he sits there hugging his stones anyway. We sewed this one to order in 2015.
The joke comes from a short comic about the organs inside us. The gallbladder is a regular character in Nick Seluk's The Awkward Yeti strips, the webcomic that has been online since 2012 and gave us Heart and Brain. Russian-speaking readers turned the strip into a meme called «Я сделяль», a baby-talk "I maked it". People still post it whenever an effort turns out the opposite of helpful.
What we sewed
An egg-shaped green body, stubby arms and two round feet sticking straight out. Big white eyes look up from under heavy lids, a frown and a few worried wrinkles are embroidered in black, and a tiny smile sits under all that. He's half hurt, half still proud.
In his arms he holds the reason for all this: three grey stones and one beige one, sewn as small plush pebbles with a seam down the middle. Take them away and he's a green blob. Anyone who knows the comic laughs the moment they see the stones.
Made for one person, not a shelf
Everything we make is made to order for one customer. There's no stock and no ready copy waiting in a box. You tell us which character you love, send a picture of it, and we build the pattern for you. A gallbladder with stones is a great get-well joke after surgery, a gift for a doctor or a med student, or simply a meme you want to hold.
Another organ or your own doodle works too, so send whatever you have. More toys like this are in Comics Characters and Plush From Drawings. If you like meme plush, there's also our This Is Fine dog.
We are an independent studio, not official The Awkward Yeti merchandise. Price from $360, and the quote is free.
The gallbladder is sewn from premium soft plush in a deep green, with grey and beige fabric for the stones.
- Glossy white eyes with black pupils, set under stitched lids
- Embroidered face: the frown, brows, wrinkles and the small smile are stitched, not printed
- Four plush stones held in his arms, each with its own seam
- Hypoallergenic filling, soft enough to squeeze and firm enough to sit up
Want something different? Ask for another size, a sound module, an embroidered name, different colours or more stones in his arms. These go in while we sew, so mention them in your first message.
A plush like this usually takes 2–4 weeks.
A comic character is flat, so first we work out how it looks from the side and the back, and how big the eyes and stones should be so the face still reads as the drawing. Then come the pattern, the sewing and the embroidery.
The time frame has a small reserve for handmade surprises. If the toy is for a date, like a discharge from hospital or a birthday, tell us at the start.
Shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post slows down, so leave a few extra days.
If the gallbladder is a get-well gift, order early so it arrives while the joke is still fresh. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before anything ships, we send you photos of the finished toy. Hold them next to the comic and tell us if something should change.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009, and many of them started as a comic panel or a quick sketch.
A meme character only works if people recognise it at a glance, so you see the finished toy in photos before shipping, while a stitch can still move.
If your plush arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
