Meet the Puggleformer. The name tells you most of it: part pug, part robot, from the Transformers universe. It isn't a toy you can find on a shelf. Someone drew it, and we sewed this Transformers plush to order from that drawing in 2015.

What you see is the head, nothing else. It's small, about 15 cm (6 in), and we packed into it as much detail as that size allows.

A robot helmet with a pug face

The helmet is blue felt cut into panels: a tall crest down the middle, angled fins on each side and two antenna stacks sticking up behind the ears. Every panel edge is stitched by hand, so the seams read like armour plating.

Under the helmet sits a soft face in pale blue fleece. Round red eyes in black rims, grey pug lips, and floppy fleece ears that no robot would ever need. On the forehead there's a grey heart where you'd expect a faction symbol. The faction symbol is on the back instead: a small grey Decepticon badge.

Your own Transformer, or your own mash-up

Fans ask for Transformers plush designs that don't exist anywhere: a favourite side character, a version from an old comic, their own OC, or a mix like this one. That's what we do. You send a drawing, a sketch or a few screenshots, we work out the pattern and sew one toy, made to order for you. It can be a whole robot or just the head, at 15 cm or much bigger.

Prices for a custom Transformers plush start from $415. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships, and the quote is free.

More toys sewn from people's own pictures are in Plush From Drawings and OC Plush. If you like robots with a personality, look at our Marvin the Paranoid Android plush too.

We're an independent studio, not official Hasbro. Each fan toy is sewn by hand for one customer.

The Puggleformer mixes two fabrics so the helmet looks hard and the face looks soft.

  • Felt in bright blue for the helmet panels, crest, fins and antenna stacks, with hand-stitched edges
  • Fleece in pale blue for the face and the ears
  • Grey felt for the heart on the forehead, the lips and the Decepticon badge on the back
  • Round red eyes set in black rims
  • A dark navy base so the head sits steady on a shelf
  • Hypoallergenic filling, packed firm so the helmet keeps its angles

Your robot can use other fabrics too: minky, faux fur, faux leather for armour details. Want lights in the eyes, a sound module or poseable arms? Ask at the start, because they go in while we sew.

A plush head like this usually takes 2–4 weeks. A full robot with lots of armour pieces can take longer, and we'll tell you when we quote.

Most of the work happens before the sewing. A drawing shows one side, so we figure out what the back and the sides look like, and how the helmet panels fit together. Then we cut, sew and add the face.

The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need the toy by a certain date, say so in your first message.

Shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post gets slower, so give it a few extra days.

A Transformers plush made from your own drawing is a good gift for the fan who has every action figure and still wants something no one else owns. For a Christmas present, order by November 1.

Before anything ships, we send you photos of the finished toy. Check the helmet, the eyes and the badge against your drawing and tell us if anything should change.

We've been sewing toys to order since 2009, and fan robots like this are some of the most fiddly ones we make: lots of small panels, sharp angles and details that fans notice right away.

That's why you see the finished toy in photos before it ships, while we can still move a stitch.

If your plush arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
