This hooded crow plush started with another crow. The customer already had one, a small shop-bought toy with the paper tag still on, and asked us for a second one just like it. So we sewed a twin.
That's how all our toys start: made to order, for one person and the toy they have in mind. Nothing here waits on a shelf.
The original and the copy
We followed the original closely: the black head and the black bib that runs down into a point on the chest, the grey body, the long grey beak, the round brown eyes and the big flat black feet that stick straight out when he sits. The fabrics we found were a little lighter, so our crow is a softer, paler grey than the first one. Put them side by side and they're clearly a pair.
Why a hooded crow
Hooded crows live all over Europe and much of Asia, and lots of people see them every day on city streets. The pattern is easy to spot: a grey body with a black head, wings and tail, as if the bird pulled on a dark hood. In Scotland and Ireland they're called "hoodies". They're smart, too: hooded crows use sticks to pull food out of cracks.

To copy a toy, we pick fabrics as close as we can get to the original's colors and feel. Here that meant two shades of soft faux fur plus smooth fabrics for the details.
- Black faux fur for the head, the pointed bib, the wing tips and the tail
- Light grey faux fur for the body and the wings
- smooth grey fabric for the long beak, with a neat seam along the top
- soft black velvety fabric for the big three-toed feet
- round brown eyes with a shiny highlight
We match materials to what's available, so a copy can come out a shade lighter or darker than the original, like this one. If an exact color matters, say so and we'll show you the options first.
A crow like this usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
For a copy, we start from your photos: we work out the pattern and the size so the shapes match the original, then pick the fabrics. After that comes the sewing: body, wings and tail, then the head with its beak and eyes, and last the feet.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need the toy by a set date, mention it in your first message.
Once your crow is ready, shipping usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post gets slower, so allow a few extra days then.
