You see him every time you unlock an Android phone: a green robot with two antennae, a half-dome head and a body like a tin can. In 2011 someone asked us to make that robot huggable, and this Android plush is the result. It was sewn to order, for one customer, from the logo picture. We don't keep a stock of these. Every one starts with a message.
A logo with no back
The robot was drawn at Google by designer Irina Blok's team when Android launched in 2007. The brief was simple: it had to have a robot in it. Her team borrowed the shape from the stick figures on restroom doors, and the Android crew later gave it a nickname, "bugdroid".
A flat icon is easy to read and tricky to sew. It has a front and nothing else. So we had to decide how deep the head is, how the arms join the body and how a robot with stubby legs stands up on a shelf.
What we kept
The head is a separate soft dome, with a gap below it, just like the logo. Under it sits a white band for the neck. The two antennae are stuffed and stand up on their own. The eyes are white appliqué with a thin green outline. The arms are separate capsules on small white joints, and the legs are short and round.
The whole robot is covered in bright green plush, the shade people know from their phone screen.
Your robot, your logo
Want a green Android robot plush for a developer friend, a phone geek or your own desk? Tell us the size and send a picture. We can also turn your app icon, your team's mascot or any flat logo into a soft toy, the same way. More robots: meet Marvin the Paranoid Android and the Puggleformer, or browse more plush from drawings.
We're an independent studio, not official Google or Android merchandise.
This Android robot is sewn from soft short-pile plush in a bright green that matches the logo. The neck band and the little arm joints are white fleece, so they read clearly against the green, just like on the icon.
- Eyes: white appliqué with a fine green outline, stitched on
- Antennae: stuffed plush tubes that stand upright
- Arms: separate stuffed capsules on white joints
The filling is hypoallergenic and packed firm enough for the robot to stand on its short legs. On request we can add LED lights, a sound module or wire in the arms so they hold a wave. Mention it in your first message, since these go in while we sew.
A plush like this usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
Most of the thinking happens before the first cut. A logo is flat, so we build a pattern that gives the head, body and limbs real depth while keeping the outline you know. Then cutting, sewing, stuffing and the eyes.
The time frame includes a reserve for the surprises of handmade work. If the robot is for a birthday, a team event or a product launch, tell us the date when you write.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays mail slows down, so allow a few extra days.
Planning a gift? Count back from the day: making time plus shipping. For Christmas, order by November 1. Tell us your date in the first message and we'll say honestly whether it works.
Before we pack, you get photos of the finished robot to approve. Nothing ships until you've seen it.
We've been sewing toys from pictures since 2009, and a logo leaves no room to hide. Everyone knows how the green robot looks, so we check the proportions against the picture as we go.
You approve photos of the finished toy before it ships. If you still don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
All you need to start is one clear picture of the robot or logo you want.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
