This custom car plush is a soft blue hatchback we sewed back in September 2010. It has black windows outlined in stitching, silver headlights, red panels at the back and fat black wheels with embroidered rims. It was made to order, like everything we sew. We don't keep a stock of cars. We make the one you describe.
A car you can hug
Plenty of people love their car more than they admit. A first car, the family car from childhood, the one that finally passed inspection, a dream car still on the wish list. One car fan online wrote that nobody would ever make a plush of his car, but he'd pay for one. That's the job we do.
A plush car isn't a scale model. It's soft, rounded and a little chubby, but it has to read as that car from across the room. On this one the shape does most of the work. The roof slopes down into a short hatch, the hood dips, the headlights sweep back along the sides. The seams follow the door lines, so the body looks panelled even though it's all fabric.
What we need from you
Photos of the car from the side, the front and the back are the best start. A toy car, a drawing or a screenshot from a game works too. Tell us the color, any details that matter (a roof box, a sticker, a number plate with a name on it) and roughly how big you want it.
Only have one old photo of a car that's long gone? Send that. We'll work out the rest and ask about anything the picture doesn't show.

The body is sewn from smooth, short-pile plush fabric in a bright blue. It's soft to the touch and holds the panel seams well, so the doors, hood and wheel arches stay crisp.

For your car we match the paint color as closely as plush fabric allows. Stripes, badges or lettering can be embroidered or appliqued. Sound or LED lights inside are possible on request, just ask at the start.
A custom car like this usually takes 2-4 weeks. That time includes a small reserve, because handwork sometimes needs a second try.
Cars are pattern-heavy. Every window, light and panel is its own piece, and the curves of the roof and hood have to come out right in soft fabric. So the first days go into the pattern, before anything is cut.
Then come the details: wheels, rims, lights and trim, each sewn and placed by hand. If you need the car by a birthday or another date, put it in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your car leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
Around the holidays the post gets slow, Christmas most of all. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1.
A plush copy of someone's car makes a good gift for a new driver, a car lover or a dad who still talks about his first hatchback. If it's a surprise with a fixed date, tell us when you write and we'll say right away whether sewing and shipping fit.

Before your car ships, we send photos of the finished toy. Put them next to your photos of the real car. If a window is the wrong shape or the blue is off, tell us and we fix it then.
