Meet Grisha, the young dinosaur from Zavriki ("ΠΠ°Π²ΡΠΈΠΊΠΈ"), the cartoon made by the Russian kids' learning platform Uchi.ru. He has a purple head with two little black horns, huge surprised eyes and a long pink snout that takes up half of his body. We sewed this custom dinosaur plush in 2016, the year the show came out. Like everything we make, Grisha was made to order, as one toy for one customer. Nothing here waits on a shelf.
Zavriki started in October 2016. Grisha and his little sister Sonya live on a distant planet of dinosaurs and get out of odd situations with school math. The twist: a new episode unlocks only after a child finishes tasks on Uchi.ru, and it reaches YouTube about 20 days later. Kids earned every episode. No wonder they got attached.
But a cartoon dino only lives on a screen. Kids want to carry their favorite around, sit it at the table and take it to bed. That's the gap we fill.
From the screen to a real dino
Cartoons cheat. A character can turn its head and the snout changes shape from one frame to the next. A plush has to pick one shape and hold it from every side. So the snout became a big soft block that still looks like the cartoon from the front, the side and above.
The details are what make it Grisha:
- white eyes with glossy black pupils, set high on the purple head
- two raised nostrils at the tip of the pink snout
- a row of small white teeth along the jaw
- a bright yellow tummy and black spikes running down the back to the tail
- three-finger purple hands and big flat feet
Those feet matter. Grisha stands on his own, and he sits just as well, with his tail out behind him.

Grisha is all soft fabric, no hard parts. Bright colors were the point, so we picked fabrics that keep them.
- Smooth purple plush fabric for the head, arms and feet
- Pink-magenta plush for the snout, body and tail
- Short-pile yellow plush for the tummy and under the tail
- Black fabric horns and back spikes, white fabric teeth
- Big white eyes with glossy black pupils, sewn in place
The filling is soft and hypoallergenic, packed firmly in the feet so he can stand. If you want faux fur instead of smooth fabric, that works too. On request we can add an embroidered name, a sound module or wire in the arms so they bend.
A dino like Grisha usually takes 2β4 weeks.
We start with your pictures and agree on size, colors and pose. Then we draw the pattern. The big snout is the tricky part: it has to keep its shape without sagging and still let the head sit straight. Sewing comes next, then the spikes and teeth, and the eyes go in last, because that's where the character shows up.
The time includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. Need it for a birthday? Tell us the date in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the courier. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave some extra time.
For a gift, add the making time to the delivery time and count back from the big day. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before we ship, you get photos of the finished dino. Then we pack him so the snout and spikes arrive in shape, not squashed flat.
