This Westie plush is a copy of one dog. His owner sent us a few photos from walks and from home: a white terrier on a lead by a hedge, the same dog flopped on a wooden staircase. We sewed him to order in autumn 2022. There was no stock toy to start from. There never is, because we only make the one you ask for.
Two lines of brief
The order fit into a single chat message: about 50 cm (20 in) long, legs 20 cm. Everything else we read off the photos. The tall pricked ears. The round, fluffy head. That serious look a Westie gives you when you've stopped throwing the ball.
A coat that looks unbrushed
A real Westie has a harsh white outer coat over a soft undercoat, and the breed standard asks for a head that looks round from the front. Smooth plush can't do that. So we used long-pile white faux fur and let it stay a bit wild: strands stick out at the cheeks, the beard hangs below the nose, the legs have proper furnishings. The ears are lined in pink and stand up on their own.
The eyes are small, black and glossy, set close under the brows, with a black nose below. That's where the face lives. Get the spacing wrong by a few millimetres and a Westie turns into a poodle or a lamb.
Sits, lies, waits
In the photos he sits on the autumn grass with one paw forward and his tail out to the side, then stretches out on a garden swing like he owns it. Westie people call that attitude "Westitude". We tried to sew some of it in.
Your dog next
Send us photos of your Westie, or any dog: face from the front, a side view, the coat up close. We draw the pattern from them, match the fur and the ears, and show you photos of the finished toy before it ships.
- Any size, from a small lap copy to life-size
- Sitting, standing or lying pose
- Collar, tag or harness copied from your photos
A Westie plush like this starts from $465, and the quote is free. More portraits of real pets are in pet stuffed animals and dog replicas. For another terrier, see our Jack Russell plush.
The whole dog is sewn from long-pile white faux fur. It's shaggy on purpose: loose strands on the cheeks, a beard and moustache under the nose, longer fur on the legs and belly, the way a real Westie looks between grooming visits.
The fur on the face is trimmed shorter around the eyes and nose so they stay visible. The ears have a smooth pink lining inside.
- Small black glossy eyes
- A black nose
- Upright ears that keep their shape
- Soft stuffing, firm enough for him to sit up
For your dog we match the shade of white or cream, the coat length and the ear shape to your photos.
A Westie plush usually takes 2-4 weeks. That includes a small reserve for handwork surprises.
The pattern comes first. We work out the head, the ears and the length of the legs from your photos before any fur is cut.
Long white fur takes patience. Seams have to vanish under the pile, and the face is trimmed by hand, a little at a time, until it looks like your dog.
You get photos of the finished toy before it ships. If you need it by a certain date, tell us in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your Westie leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
Holidays slow the post down, Christmas most of all. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1.
If the toy is for a birthday or a memorial date, tell us the date. We'll say right away whether sewing and shipping fit.
We've been making toys to order since 2009, and pet copies are a big part of that work.
You see photos of your dog before it's packed and can ask for changes then. If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
