"Nu, zayats, pogodi!" Well, hare, just you wait. Anyone who grew up with Soviet TV hears that growl in Anatoli Papanov's voice. This is our Nu, Pogodi! wolf plush, and now he can burst in on you too, all elegance. Say hello. Like everything we sew, he was made to order. We don't keep a shelf of wolves; each one is sewn for the person who asks.
The hooligan everyone loved
Nu, Pogodi! started at Soyuzmultfilm in 1969, directed by Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin. The plot never changed much. The Wolf chases the Hare, the Hare gets away, and the Wolf usually loses most of his clothes on the way. He's a hooligan in bell-bottoms with a cigarette. Then he turns out to figure skate, dance ballet and play a decent guitar. People call it the Soviet Tom and Jerry. The Wolf is the one everybody quotes.
What makes him this Wolf
Any grey wolf is easy. This one had to be the Wolf, so we worked from the cartoon:
- a long, messy black faux fur mane falling over one eye
- big cartoon eyes and a huge glossy black nose
- two white fangs and a sly half-grin
- the pink shirt and yellow neckerchief he wears in most episodes, plus black trousers
- grey feet and hands with small black claws, fingers posed mid-gesture
He stands on his own feet, pointing at something. Probably the Hare. Or the Nu, Pogodi! Hippo he just crashed into.
Your Wolf, your way
We'll change the clothes and the look however you like: a sailor shirt, a guitar, skates. Pick a size on the order form or tell us how tall you want him, and send a still from the episode you love. We draw the pattern from it and agree on fabrics with you before we start.
You see photos of the finished Wolf before he ships. SKAZKODROM is an independent studio, not connected to Soyuzmultfilm or the cartoon's rights owners. We sew one-off fan toys.
From the same Soviet TV evenings: Leopold the Cat, more toys from animated films, and why grown-ups order nostalgia plush.
The Wolf is half character, half outfit, so he takes two kinds of fabric.
- Soft grey fleece for the head, body, hands and feet, with paler grey on the soles and inside the ears
- Long black faux fur for the mane
- Glossy black nose, big white cartoon eyes and two white fangs
- Small black claws on the hands and feet
- Pink fabric for the shirt, yellow satin for the neckerchief and black fabric for the trousers
The filling is soft and hypoallergenic. We only use faux fur, never real fur. Colors, outfit and size can follow your favorite episode. On request we can add a sound module, wire in the arms so he holds a gesture, or an embroidered name.
A Wolf like this usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
First the pattern, worked out from cartoon stills. Then the body and the outfit: shirt, neckerchief, trousers, each cut to his shape. The face comes last. The eyes, nose and mane decide whether he reads as the Wolf or as some random grey dog, so we set them by hand.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need him by a date, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave extra time.
He's a good surprise for someone who still shouts "Nu, pogodi!" at the TV. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from your date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before he ships you get photos of the finished toy. We pack him so the mane and the fangs arrive in shape.
We've been sewing custom plush since 2009, and Soviet cartoon characters come up often. People can't find them in shops, or find one that looks nothing like the Wolf they remember.
You agree on the details with us before we sew, and you see photos of the finished Wolf before he ships. If you still don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Only have a blurry screenshot from an old tape? Send it. We'll ask about the rest.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
