Black face, amber eyes, a big white bib and a smoky grey coat that goes on and on into the tail. This realistic fluffy cat plush was sewn by hand, made to order. We don't keep cats on a shelf. Every cat we make starts with the photos and wishes of the person who orders it.
Why "smoke"
Cat people use the word smoke for a coat where each hair is dark at the tip and pale at the root. When the cat lies still it looks dark. When it moves, the pale roots show through and the fur turns silvery, like smoke. Long-haired cats show it most.
That's the look we went for here. The head and front legs stay black, the body is streaky grey faux fur with lighter and darker patches, and the tail is a full grey plume.
The small things that make it a cat
A thin white stripe runs up the nose to the forehead. The muzzle has a white spot under the black nose. Long white whiskers stick out on both sides, and the paws have white tips with little pink toe pads. The cat lies the way real cats do, front paws forward, head turned to look at you.
One photo in the gallery shows it on our work table, right next to the pliers.
Your fluffy cat, your way
Maybe your cat is smoke, maybe tuxedo, maybe a grey Maine Coon with a mane like a lion. Send a few clear photos and tell us:
- the coat colours and markings, and the eye colour
- the size: small, medium, large or huge
- the pose: lying, sitting or curled up
A custom realistic cat plush starts from $405, and the quote is free. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. Want a black-and-white short-coat cat instead? See our tuxedo cat plush or the long-haired tabby. More lifelike animals are in Realistic Stuffed Animals.
This cat is sewn from long-pile faux fur in three colours: black for the head and legs, white for the bib and paw tips, and streaky grey for the body and tail. The pile is long and soft, so the bib stands out like a ruff and the tail looks full, not stuffed.
The eyes are amber glass with a dark pupil. The whiskers are long and white. The face and the white markings are shaped by hand, so the cat looks at you instead of past you.
For your cat we match the fur to your photos. All our materials are premium and hypoallergenic, and we never use natural fur, only faux.
- On request: a sound module, so your cat can purr or meow
- Also possible: poseable legs and tail on a wire frame
A realistic long-haired cat like this one usually takes 2-4 weeks. The estimate keeps a little spare time for handwork surprises.
The pattern is drawn for your cat alone. The fur is cut so the long pile falls the right way, from the nose back to the tail. Then come the markings, the eyes and the whiskers, all by hand. Long fur hides mistakes badly, so the face gets the most time.
Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy. Need it by a certain date? Say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your cat leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
Around the holidays the post slows down, Christmas most of all. For a Christmas cat, order by November 1.
Ordering for a birthday, or for someone who misses a cat that isn't around anymore? Leave a few spare days. Tell us the date when you first write, and we'll plan the sewing and shipping around it.
We've been making toys to order since 2009. Realistic cats are some of the hardest to get right, because cat owners notice everything: the shape of the bib, the shade of the eyes, where the white stops on a paw. That's why you see photos of the finished toy before it's packed, and you can ask for changes.
If your cat arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Same promise on every toy we sew, small kitten or huge fluffy tom.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
