This jackalope plush started as a drawing: a bunny with deer antlers. Someone drew it, and we sewed it the way it was drawn. Golden orange and white, long floppy ears, dark brown antlers, a little green sprout on top of the head and two huge green eyes. Nothing here is mass-produced. Every toy we make is made to order from the picture one person sends us.
A bunny with antlers has a long history
The jackalope comes from North American folklore. The name joins "jackrabbit" and "antelope", and the classic version is a hare with horns. In the 1930s two hunters in Douglas, Wyoming, put deer antlers on a stuffed jackrabbit and sold it to a local hotel, and horned rabbits have hung in bars and souvenir shops ever since. People still go looking for one, and plenty of plush fans say they'd love a jackalope of their own.
Our bunny isn't a copy of a mount, though. It's one person's own take on the idea, and the sprout between the antlers came from their drawing.
What we kept from the drawing
The face is the whole point. The eyes are big, glossy and green, with thick black outlines and white highlights, so the bunny looks up at you a little hopefully. The nose is small and orange, the smile is a thin stitched line. The ears hang almost to the floor and show a red-orange lining.
The arms are folded across a white tummy. The feet are the fun part: white toes with pink pads and a big pink pad on each sole. The antlers stand upright instead of flopping over.
Your jackalope
- Any colours: a green jackalope, a brown wild one, or your own palette
- Any size you have in mind
- Longer or shorter antlers, more or fewer tines
- A wire frame in the ears or arms for posing
- A sound module or LED lights, on request
Send your drawing, a sketch or a few words, and tell us what matters most. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. A jackalope plush like this starts from $415, and the quote is free.
More horned creatures live in our plush from drawings collection: a horned fox and a much less friendly fierce hare.
The bunny is sewn from short, soft plush: golden orange on the back, arms and legs, white on the face, chest, belly and toes. The ears are lined with red-orange fabric, so the colour shows when they swing.
- Dark brown plush antlers that stand up on their own
- A green sprout with two fuzzy leaves on a short stem
- Big glossy green eyes with black outlines and white highlights
- Pink pads on the toes and soles
The whole toy is soft and fine to hug, antlers included. For your jackalope we pick fabrics to match your drawing's colours. Wire in the ears or arms, a sound module or LED lights can go in on request.
A plush like this usually takes 2-4 weeks, with a small reserve for the surprises handwork brings.
A drawing is flat, so first we work out how the character looks from the side and the back. Then the face: the eyes have to sit at the right height and angle, or the bunny loses that hopeful look. The antlers need to stand straight and match each other.
You get photos of the finished toy before it ships. If you need it by a certain date, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your jackalope leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country.
The post slows down around holidays, and December is the slowest month. For Christmas, order by November 1. More ideas are on our custom Christmas plush page.
A plush made from someone's own drawing makes a good birthday or anniversary gift, especially for the person who drew it. Tell us the date, and we'll say right away whether sewing and shipping fit.
We've sewn toys to order since 2009, a lot of them from drawings. Before your jackalope ships, we check that the antlers stand straight and the eyes are even.
You see photos of the toy before it's packed and can ask for changes then. That's the moment to say if the ears should be longer or the orange a shade warmer.
If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
