Ask people what their first plush was called and a lot of them say the same word: Puppy. This one never got a fancier name either. He's a puppy plush we sewed by hand and photographed back in 2011, and like every toy we make, he was made to order. We don't keep ready puppies on a shelf. Each one starts with your photo, drawing or idea.
Meet Puppy
He lies on his tummy with both front paws stretched out and his head up, as if someone just said his name. His coat is soft faux fur, mottled tan, honey and grey-brown on the back, with a creamy white muzzle, chest and paws. Two big upright ears, a short fluffy tail that sticks up. And the eyes: large, shiny black, with amber rims. They do most of the talking.
The puppy you remember
Plush collectors' forums are full of the same story. Someone had a floppy puppy as a kid, it got lost or chewed to pieces, and now they spend years searching for "a twin" by brand, year and colour. Often it never turns up. That's the case where making one by hand makes sense. Send us an old photo, even a blurry one, and we'll sew a new puppy from it. Our Lost Toy Replicas show how that goes, including a childhood puppy copied from one old snapshot.
Your puppy
It can also be your real dog as a puppy, or a pup someone drew. Tell us what matters most: the ears, the markings, the expression. Send clear photos of every important detail, because we make what we can see.
- Any size
- Any fur colours and markings
- Short or long faux fur
- A sound module or a wire frame for posing, on request
You see photos of the finished puppy before it ships. A puppy plush like this starts from $370, and the quote is free. More dogs we've sewn are in Dog Replicas.
Puppy is sewn from soft faux fur. Two shades do most of the work: a mottled tan and honey pile for the head, ears, back and tail, and a creamy white one for the muzzle, chest and paws. The way the two meet across the face is what makes him read as a puppy, not just a brown dog.
- Mottled tan, honey and grey-brown faux fur
- Creamy white faux fur on the muzzle, chest and paws
- Big shiny black eyes with amber rims
- A glossy black nose and a dark smile line
For your puppy we match the fur to your photos: short pile for a smooth-coated dog, longer for a fluffy one. We only use faux fur, never natural fur. A wire frame for posing or a little sound module can go inside on request.
A custom puppy plush usually takes 2-4 weeks, plus a small reserve for the surprises that come with handwork.
Most of that time goes into the head. Where the ears sit, how wide apart the eyes are, how the white of the muzzle runs into the darker fur: small shifts there change the whole face. We check each step against your photos.
You get photos of the finished puppy before it ships. If you need it by a birthday or another date, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your puppy leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country.
Holiday mail is slow, and December is the slowest month of all. For Christmas, order by November 1. More gift ideas are on our custom Christmas plush page.
A puppy plush makes a sweet gift for a new dog owner, or for someone who still misses their childhood toy. Tell us the date you have in mind and we'll say right away if sewing and shipping fit.
We've been making toys to order since 2009. Before your puppy ships, we check the seams, make sure the eyes and nose sit firmly and the ears are even.
You see photos of the finished toy before it's packed, and you can ask for changes then. That's the time to say if the ears should stand taller or the patches be a shade darker.
If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
