This purple dragon plush started as a drawing. A customer sent us a picture of a dragon, and we had to work out how a flat sketch becomes a big, heavy beast that lies on the sofa and can still be hugged.
Nothing like him sat on a shelf anywhere. Everything we sew is made to order, for one person and the creature they imagined.
From lines on paper to velvet and sparkle
A drawing tells you the shape and the mood. The fabric is where the plush gets its character, and on this dragon almost every part has its own material:
- deep purple velvet for the body, legs, horns and the edges of the wings
- silver holographic fabric for the long belly and throat, with darker holographic plates over the snout and the top of the head
- black glitter-dot fabric for the bat wings, which stand up off the back
- glossy black claws on every toe, white teeth, pale pink inner ears
- two braided black whiskers hanging from the snout like an old Eastern dragon
Heavy brows over round white eyes give him a grumpy, suspicious look. He's not a cute cartoon dragon. He looks like he's guarding something.
Have a dragon of your own?
Lots of people have a dragon they've been drawing for years, maybe a D&D companion or an OC from a comic they never finished. On plush forums the wish comes up again and again: a plush of my dragon OC, big, with floppy wings and tail. We can sew that.
Send us your sketch or ref sheet, front and side if you have them. Tell us the size and the colours, and whether the wings should stand up, fold or flop. Poseable legs and tail are possible on request. We reply with a free quote, and you see photos of the finished dragon before it ships. Custom dragons like this start from $425.
More dragons we've sewn are in our dragon plushies collection, including the Ice Dragon, another original character. Or see everything we've made from drawings.
The dragon mixes soft and shiny fabrics, so he looks good on a shelf and still feels like a plush when you pick him up.
- Purple velvet plush for the body, legs, horns, ears and the wing edges. It has a deep colour that changes with the light.
- Silver holographic fabric for the belly and throat, cut into scale-like panels, plus darker holographic plates on the snout, head and elbows
- Black glitter-dot fabric for the wing skin
- glossy black claws, white teeth, round white eyes and braided black whiskers
For your dragon we pick fabrics to match your drawing: matte or shiny, short pile or faux fur, one colour or many. Poseable wings, legs or tail are possible on request. Tell us at the start, together with the size you want.
A dragon this detailed usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
First we turn your drawing into a pattern, which is the step where a flat picture gets a body you can walk around. Then come the many small parts: horns, spikes, claws, wing panels, belly plates. The head takes the most care. The eyes and brows decide whether it's still your dragon.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need the dragon for a birthday or another date, write it in your first message.
When your dragon is finished, shipping takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays the post is slower, so leave a few extra days.
Want him under the tree? Order by November 1 for Christmas.
Before he ships, you get photos of the finished toy. Check the colours, the face and the wings against your drawing and tell us if something should change. He leaves the studio once you say yes.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009. With someone's own character, details matter a lot. You know your dragon better than anyone.
That's why you see him in photos before he's sent, while there's still time to adjust a horn, a colour or the look in his eyes.
If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days. No long explanations needed.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
