This poltergeist plush came to us as a client's drawing of their own creature. They called it the Poltergeist, and we sewed it the way they drew it: shaggy dark brown fur, a wrinkled little face, big blue eyes and long white whiskers. It isn't the clown from the movie and it isn't a stock toy. Everything we sew is made to order from the picture one person sends us.
Why "poltergeist"
The word is German: poltern means to rumble or knock, Geist means ghost. In German folklore a poltergeist is the noisy spirit that bangs on doors, moves furniture and hides your things. Nobody ever sees one, so everyone pictures their own. Our client pictured a furry one with a creased face and very blue eyes.
What we kept from the drawing
The face does all the work. The forehead is creased and the brows sit low, so the creature looks puzzled, like it just got caught moving the cutlery. The eyes are large, glossy and bright blue. Thin white whiskers stick out of both cheeks, and a pointed ear pokes up out of the fur.
Both hands are held open, palms up, as if to say "wasn't me". The feet are big and flat, with every toe sewn separately. The fur is long and a little wild on purpose. A tidy poltergeist would look wrong.
Your creature
- Any size you have in mind

- Long shaggy faux fur or a short, smooth plush
- A wire frame in the arms or ears for posing

More odd friends live in our plush from drawings collection: a shy forest creature and a pair of much cuter ghost plushies.
The body, arms, legs and head are covered in long, shaggy dark brown faux fur. The face, hands and feet are smooth brown fabric, shaped and stitched so the creases on the forehead and around the eyes hold their form.
- Large glossy blue eyes with black pupils
- Long white whiskers on both cheeks
- Open hands with separate fingers
- Big flat feet with separate toes
The toy is soft all over and fine to hug. For your creature we choose fur and fabric to match your drawing. Wire in the arms or ears, a sound module or LED lights can go in on request.
A plush like this usually takes 2-4 weeks, with a small reserve for the surprises handwork brings.
A drawing is flat, so first we work out how the creature looks from the side and the back. Most of the time goes into the face: the creases, the eye height and the angle of the brows decide whether it looks puzzled, cross or sad.
You get photos of the finished toy before it ships. If you need it by a certain date, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your creature leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country.
The post slows down around holidays, and December is the slowest month. For Christmas, order by November 1. More ideas are on our custom Christmas plush page.
A plush made from someone's own drawing is a good birthday gift, especially for the person who drew it. Tell us the date, and we'll say right away whether sewing and shipping fit.
We've sewn toys to order since 2009, a lot of them from drawings. Before your creature ships, we check that the eyes sit level, the whiskers hold and every seam on the hands and feet is tight.
You see photos of the toy before it's packed and can ask for changes then. That's the moment to say if the fur should be longer or the eyes a different blue.
If it arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
