She started life as a tiny sticker: a blue frog in a red crown, hugged by a ring of hearts. Our customer wanted her off the screen and on the shelf, so we sewed this frog princess plush for that one person. It's made to order, like everything we do. There's no shelf of ready frogs here. Each toy starts with the picture you send.
A frog princess with very long legs
The sticker shows only a head, a crown and a necklace. The body was up to us. We gave her a round mint belly, skinny light-blue arms and legs that are almost twice as long as she is, and big flat feet with stitched toes. Sit her on the edge of a shelf and the legs just hang there. She can fold her hands on her knees, cross her legs, or hold a pencil like a sceptre.
The face is embroidered: two big black eyes, a long wobbly smile and pink cheeks. Her red crown has small gold beads on every point, and she wears a necklace of fluffy red pom-poms. A second necklace of red beads came along too, closer to the one on the sticker.
The fairy-tale nod
In Russia a crowned frog makes everyone think of the folk tale The Frog Princess. Prince Ivan shoots an arrow, it lands in a swamp, and the frog who catches it turns out to be Vasilisa the Wise. Our frog doesn't turn into anyone. She stays a frog, crown and all, and that's the point.
Two takes on one sticker
There's a second frog in the photos: brighter turquoise, with a lime-green belly and a soft red crown, closer to the colours of the sticker art. Same idea, a different mood. Your sticker can go either way. Tell us if you want the colours matched exactly or toned down.

The frog princess is sewn from soft short-pile plush in light blue, with a pale mint fabric for the face and the big round belly. Her long arms and legs are stuffed softly, so they bend and dangle instead of standing stiff.

A toy like this usually takes 2-4 weeks. That includes a little spare time, because handwork doesn't always go to plan.
Most of the work is the pattern. A sticker shows one flat face and no body, so we decide the proportions, the legs and the crown before the first cut. Then come the sewing, the stuffing and the embroidery.
