This one was a birthday present. In 2011 we got a photo of a girl and one request: sew her as a doll for her birthday. That makes this a personalized doll from photo in the most literal sense: one picture of a real person, one doll of her, made to order. Nobody else has this face on their shelf.

The face is painted by hand on fabric. Grey-blue eyes with dark liner and long lashes, thin arched brows, pink on the cheeks, and a crooked little smile.
Long black hair, loose and a little messy. Small sunglasses pushed up on top of her head. A black jacket with white stitching along the edges, a white shirt with tiny pearl buttons, a loose black tie and a big silver buckle on the belt.
Why a doll and not a framed photo
A photo goes into an album. A doll sits on a shelf or a desk, and people pick it up and look at the face. That's why the small things matter: the sunglasses and the jacket say who she is.

Send one clear photo of the face, front view if you have it, and a picture of the outfit. A few more photos help but aren't required. Tell us which details matter, say the glasses or the jacket she never takes off, and we'll copy them. Your doll can wear whatever you choose: a favorite dress, a work uniform, the exact outfit from the photo. Portrait dolls are usually 30–50 cm (12–20 in) tall, and the price is per doll. You see photos of the finished doll before she ships.

This is a soft cloth doll. Head and body are sewn from fabric, and the face is painted by hand right on the cloth, so it stays soft and matte, with no plastic shine.

The filling is hypoallergenic. On request we can put wire inside so the arms hold a pose, or add a sound module that plays a recorded voice. Mention these in your first message, since they go in while we sew.
A portrait doll like this usually takes 2–4 weeks.
The face takes the longest. We study the photo and paint the eyes, brows and smile by hand until the doll looks like her, not just like a doll. Then come the pattern, the body, the hair and the clothes.
The time frame includes a reserve for handmade surprises. If the doll is for a birthday, tell us the date when you write, and we'll say honestly whether it fits.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays mail slows down, so add a few extra days then.

You see photos of the finished doll before we pack her. She travels dressed, with her accessories, packed so the hair and the clothes arrive the way they looked in those photos.
