A Doll That Looks Like You
Custom portrait dolls from your photos, made to order
A portrait doll, or mini me doll, is a small custom doll of a real person, sewn by hand from a few of your photos. It’s made to order for one person, so there’s no shelf of ready dolls here. Every doll starts from somebody’s photos. We make likeness dolls, not caricatures: the face is painted or stitched to look like the person. Saw yourself as a doll in an AI picture? Here’s how we turn your photo into a plush.
Quick facts
- Price: from $365. The quote is free.
- Size: usually 30–50 cm (12–20 in) tall. Other sizes on request.
- Face: painted or embroidered, as close to the person as fabric allows.
- Time: usually 2–4 weeks to make, then 7–20 business days of delivery.
- Photo approval, free: you see photos of the finished doll before it ships. If something doesn’t look like them, we fix it first.
- Full refund: if it arrives and you don’t love it, tell us within 14 days.
- The studio: SKAZKODROM, sewing plush by hand since 2009, 2,100+ toys so far.
What to send us
- Clear photos of the face, from the front and from the side
- A photo that shows the hair: color, length, how it’s parted
- The outfit you want, or a photo of the clothes they’re always in
- What has to be there: glasses, a beard, tattoos, a necklace they never take off
- The size you’d like (most are about 30–50 cm, 12–20 in, tall) and your date if there is one
How it works
- Send the photos through the quote form below.
- Get a free quote with a time estimate.
- Approve the design before we cut any fabric.
- We sew the doll by hand. The face takes longest, because a few millimeters decide whether it looks like them.
- Approve the photos of the finished doll. Then it ships.

The Stories Behind Our Portrait Dolls
Two kinds of portrait doll

Painted face. The eyes, the lashes, the blush and the lips are painted onto cloth by hand, following your photo. This is the one for fine detail. Our Wedding Dolls were a bride and groom for a wedding gift: her veil, rhinestone necklace and pink rosebud bouquet, his black suit and bow tie. The Little Witch has a painted face too, and a pocket on her back for a sound module, so the doll can say something in a voice you recorded.

Plush face. Soft all over, with the face stitched in thread. A plush portrait doesn’t copy every freckle. It picks what people notice first and makes it big and clear. The Orange Hoodie Girl is her brown hair over one eye, her toothy grin and the hoodie with bear ears. The Hair Color Doll was made for a girl who changes her hair every month, so she came with four felt wigs: pink, green, blond and black.
From a picture to a doll
We don’t show our customers’ own photos here. What we can show is the picture we worked from, next to the doll.

For the Anime Doll, a young man sent one photo of his girlfriend with her dog. Our artist drew her first, and then we sewed the drawing. The corgi is a pet plush from a photo. Another family sent a cartoon portrait of themselves, and it became mom, dad and baby dolls.
Your person as a character

A look-alike can wear a costume. In 2011 a young man asked for Gadget from Rescue Rangers with his girlfriend’s face. The Gadget Look-Alike kept the mouse ears and the pink tail, but got her dark hair, a red flower and her painted face. It was our first toy with a portrait likeness. A witch hat, a work uniform, a cartoon role: send us the person and the idea.

It works with animals too. This big white cat was a gift, made to look like the man standing next to it. It got round black glasses and a red bow tie.
Dolls of him

Fishermen are hard to shop for, and a doll of him is the one thing he can’t buy for himself. The Fisherman Doll has his orange cap, his fishing shirt and a plush tuna almost as long as he is. The whole outfit comes off. The Bearded Look-Alike is a real man in his grey blazer, beard and all. And if the person talks to a camera for a living, there’s the Blogger Puppet: a hand puppet of yourself, gray hair and black glasses, with a mouth that opens. More are in custom puppets.
Sizes
Our portrait dolls are usually about 30–50 cm (12–20 in) tall. Other sizes are on request: tell us yours in centimeters or inches when you ask for a quote. If you want something small enough to carry around, our cotton dolls are about 20 cm (8 in): a big head, a small soft body and clothes that come off.
What you can choose
- The face: painted by hand or embroidered in thread.
- The outfit: their real clothes, a wedding dress, a costume, a uniform.
- The small things: glasses, a beard, tattoos, piercings, a necklace, a bouquet.
- Extras on request: spare wigs or outfits, a sound module, a stand, a pet as a separate plush. Extras change the price and the time.
Dolls of characters rather than real people are in character dolls. For gifts between two people, see love gift plush, and our mini me doll guide walks through an order step by step.
Christmas
A doll with their face is a Christmas present nobody else can give. Order by November 1. That covers the sewing and the shipping. Details are on our Christmas plush page.
Why people trust us with a face
We’ve sewn toys to order since 2009, more than 2,100 of them, each by hand. A portrait doll has one real test: the person sees it and knows it’s them. That’s why you approve the design first and the finished doll in photos before it ships. It leaves us only when you say it’s right.
If it arrives and you don’t love it, tell us within 14 days, for any reason, and you get a full refund. The details are on our guarantee page.
Questions about portrait dolls
Yes. A portrait doll, also called a mini me doll, is sewn by hand from a few photos of a real person. It comes with a hand-painted face or as a soft plush doll with a sewn face. Portrait dolls start from $365, and you see photos of the finished doll before it ships.
Clear photos of the face from the front and the side, one that shows the hair, and the outfit you want. One photo can be enough to start. More angles help with the likeness.
From $365. Size, the outfit and extras like a sound module or spare wigs change the price. The quote is free.
Making usually takes 2–4 weeks. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country, and longer around the holidays. Tell us your date when you ask for a quote.
You approve the design before we cut any fabric, and you see photos of the finished doll before it ships. If the smile is off or the hair is the wrong shade, we fix it first.
A painted face has fine detail: lashes, blush, the shape of the lips, painted on cloth by hand. A plush portrait doll is soft all over, and its face is stitched in thread. It keeps the few things people notice first and makes them clear.
Usually about 30–50 cm (12–20 in) tall. Other sizes are on request, so tell us yours in centimeters or inches. Our chibi cotton dolls are about 20 cm (8 in) tall.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
