Your Fairytale Creature, Sewn as a Plush
Custom fairytale and fantasy plush, made to order from your picture
A fairytale plush is a creature from a story, a myth or your own sketchbook, sewn by hand from the picture you send. Dragons, unicorns, a horned fox, a grinning cat from Wonderland. Each one is made to order for one person. Nothing here is sitting on a shelf.
- Price: from $340. The quote is free.
- Time: usually 2β4 weeks to sew, then 7β20 business days of delivery.
- Photos before it ships: if something doesn’t match your picture, we fix it first.
- Full refund: if it arrives and you don’t love it, tell us within 14 days.
What counts as fairytale here
Anything that never walked the earth. Creatures from old tales and ballets, from cartoons and anime, from fantasy games, and creatures you invented yourself, like the ice dragon a customer drew as her own character. Dragons have their own page, and so do unicorns.
What to send us
- A picture: a drawing, a screenshot, a painting, a page from the book. A phone photo is fine.
- The details that have to be exact: the horns, the eye colour, the stripes, the wings open or folded
- The size you’d like, and your date if there is one
How it works
- Send the picture through the quote form below.
- Get a free quote with a time estimate.
- Approve the design. We agree on the fabrics, the colours and the pose before anything is cut.
- We sew it by hand. Making usually takes 2β4 weeks.
- See photos before it ships. If something looks off, we fix it.

The Stories Behind Our Fairytale Plushies
Creatures nobody sells

The horned fox came from a picture the customer sent: a fox with a fiery orange coat and two long curved horns. Ours is faux fur in orange and yellow, with horns wrapped in brown, big embroidered eyes, tiny fangs and a bushy tail. Fur colours, horns, eye colour and the expression can all be changed for yours.

The griffin is half eagle, half lion, and ours is white: a black beak, green eyes, black-tipped feathered wings and black claws. He was sewn from a drawing. Poseable wings, glowing eyes or a sound module can be added to a creature like this.

The ice dragon is a customer’s original character with a whole life story. She’s about 1 m long from nose to tail, white with dark navy-violet stripes, cream horns, green eyes and a blue tongue. Her wings are steel-blue velvet on one side and violet on the other.
The painting she was sewn from is the last picture in her gallery. More creatures people invented are in OC plush.
Dragons

Most Toothless plush toys are made to sit on a shelf. Ours stands 45 cm tall and 60 cm long, sewn from fleece with a wire skeleton in his paws and wings, so he stands, sits and folds his wings. The 2024 one has a pink tongue sticking out and yellow-green eyes.
The rest of the family lives on the dragon plushies page: Rathalos from Monster Hunter, Cynder and Spyro, a grey dragon and a fisherman dragon.
Unicorns

Most unicorns in toy shops look alike. Ours don’t. Princess Luna from My Little Pony is a tall dark blue winged unicorn. The pink unicorn has a grey horn, a big mane of tight black curls and a collar with gothic lettering.
The fluffy unicorn from Despicable Me is about 50 cm long, and the Voodoo Unicorn was sewn from an illustration. All of them are on the unicorn page.
Down the rabbit hole
The Cheshire Cat from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland fades away until only the grin is left. We’ve sewn him so often that the family has its own page, Cheshiromania.
One Cheshire Cat is fur over a frame, 35 cm long without the tail, with handmade eyes, teeth, nose and paws. Another has long dark fur and green eyes, and a third is grey with bright blue stripes.
From the same book: the White Rabbit in his blue jacket, and Bill the Lizard in a white shirt, a vest and a red scarf.
Forest spirits and a fox

Totoro was one of the first characters we sewed after opening in 2009, and we’ve made three since, no two alike. The grinning one has charcoal-grey fur, a huge stitched smile, both arms up and glossy black claws. You choose the size, the face from the film, and a name tag with a greeting if it’s a gift.
The fox from The Little Prince is about 45 cm long, soft and long-legged. More cartoon and anime creatures are in toys from animated films.
Christmas tales
One customer wanted the life-size pair that malls put by the tree, for their own Christmas photo shoots with children, so we sewed the Nutcracker and the Mouse King at 1.2 m tall each, with a frame inside and a round stand.
A smaller Mouse King came from the Bolshoi ballet: a gold crown, a star medallion and a cape with a white fur collar.
A few book friends live on this page too: Winnie the Pooh in mohair, Findus the cat, and Shishimora, needle felted from a writer’s own novella. Their full stories are under book character plushies.
What you can choose
- Any creature from a tale, a film, a game, or your own sketchbook.
- Any size, from a shelf buddy to a 1.2 m figure.
- Sewn or felted. Faux fur, fleece, velvet wings, or needle felted wool like Shishimora.
- Horns, wings, tails, stripes in the colours you send.
- Extras on request: a wire frame so it stands or poses, glowing eyes, a sound module, a name tag. Extras change the price and the time.
Your own drawing is enough to start. See how we work from a sketch on plush from drawings.
Christmas
A creature from the story they love makes a good present. Order by November 1 for delivery before Christmas. Details are on our Christmas plush page.
Why people trust us with their creature
We’ve made toys to order since 2009, more than 2,100 of them, each by hand. We’re an independent studio, so a Totoro or a Toothless from us is a handmade fan piece, not official merchandise, and a creature you invented stays yours. We only sew one copy for one person.
If it isn’t your creature when you open the box, you have 14 days to tell us, for any reason. You get a full refund and keep the plush. The details are on our guarantee page.
Questions about fairytale plush
Yes, if you can show us a picture of it. A drawing, a screenshot or a painting is enough. We sew one plush by hand, made to order for you, from $340. Making usually takes 2β4 weeks, and you see photos before it ships.
We haven’t sewn a fairy yet, but it’s the same job as any other character: send us the picture, tell us the size, and we’ll quote it. If your fairy has a human face, have a look at our character dolls as well.
That’s a lot of what we do. The ice dragon on this page is a customer’s own character, sewn from her painting. Send a ref sheet, sketches or just a description. The character stays yours; we only make the plush.
From $340. Size, wings, horns, a wire frame inside and extras like a sound module change the price. The quote is free.
Any size you ask for. Our Cheshire Cat is 35 cm long without the tail, Toothless is 45 cm tall and 60 cm long, the ice dragon is about 1 m from nose to tail, and the Nutcracker and the Mouse King are 1.2 m each.
Yes. Toothless has a wire skeleton in his paws and wings, so he stands, sits and folds his wings. Tell us which parts should move and we’ll build the frame in.
No. We’re an independent studio. A Totoro or a Toothless we sew is a handmade fan piece for one person, not licensed merchandise. Characters you invented stay yours.
Making usually takes 2β4 weeks, and you get a real estimate with the quote. We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, longer around the holidays.
We send photos before it ships and fix what looks off. After it arrives, you have 14 days to tell us, for any reason. You get a full refund and keep the plush.

Custom toys start from $350.
A bigger size or extra details can cost more.
Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
