Ask anyone who saw Osmosis Jones as a kid about the red virus guy with the burning fingernail, and they usually remember him right away. This Thrax plush is about 50 cm (20 in) tall, has a wire frame inside so you can pose him, and is made to order. We don't keep ready ones. We cut and sew your Thrax after you order him, with the size, coat and pose you want.

The Red Death

Osmosis Jones came out in August 2001 from Warner Bros. The Farrelly brothers shot the live-action part, and the animated city inside Frank's body was directed by Piet Kroon and Tom Sito. Thrax, voiced by Laurence Fishburne, is a deadly virus who calls himself the Red Death. He slips in looking like a common cold and plans to kill Frank within 48 hours, a record for a germ. The film flopped at the box office, then picked up a cult following on home video.

The film never got much merchandise, so there was never much of Thrax to put on a shelf. He still turns up on fans' favorite-villain lists, and plenty of them say he gave them nightmares as kids.

What makes him Thrax

Grey turtleneck, dark trousers, black clawed feet
Long dark red claws, plus the yellow claw he burns things with in the film

The wire frame runs through his arms, legs and body. Stand him with a hand on his hip, or lean him back with the yellow claw raised over his head and let him loom over the rest of your collection.

Materials used

Thrax is sewn from four fabrics:

Curtain velvet (kadifa), dense with a soft sheen
Velour, soft and a little matte
Velboa plush, a short smooth pile that keeps a cartoon face clean
Cotton, light and breathable

Inside there is a wire frame, so he holds a pose instead of slumping. The filling is hypoallergenic. The coat with its purple lining comes off, so you can show the turtleneck and trousers underneath. If you want a different coat color or extras like a sound module, say so at the start, because those go in while we sew.

Lead time

A Thrax plush usually takes 6–8 weeks to make.

He takes longer than most of our toys. There's the pattern, a wire frame inside, a full outfit with a lined coat, and a face where every tooth in that grin has to line up.

The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need him by a birthday or for Halloween, put the date in your first message.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so it can take longer.

With 6–8 weeks of making time, plan early. Add the making time and delivery together and count back from your date. For Christmas, order by November 1.

Before he ships, we send you photos of the finished toy. He travels packed so the claws, tendrils and coat collar arrive in shape.

That's why you see photos of your Thrax before he ships. If you still don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
