Description

Kara Gremykha started as an idea in one person's head. Then an artist drew her. Then we sewed her, and now she's a custom OC plush her creator can hold, carry around and keep on the desk as a good-luck charm.

You won't find her in any shop. Nobody else has this doll, because we made her to order, for the one person who invented her, from the drawing they sent us.

Who Kara is

She's curious, a bit naive and endlessly kind. Kara travels through a harsh world and collects what she finds on the way: stories, songs, legends and strange little facts. She keeps all of it for one reason. She wants to prove that the world is still worth loving.

That's her creator's story, not ours. Over time Kara became their talisman, the character they come back to. Our job was to take her one more step out of the imagination and into real life.

From the drawing to the doll

The last picture in the gallery is the drawing we worked from. Compare it with the plush and you'll see what we kept: the long chocolate-brown hair falling over one eye, the big embroidered amber eyes, the brown marking across her face, the heavy brows. She wears a dark navy robe with cream-gold trim, and four soft yellow tentacles with little round bobbles peek out from behind her back.

The proportions are chibi on purpose: a big head, a small body and round little legs, so she sits on a shelf by herself and fits in a bag when she goes on a trip.

Your character, sewn the same way

People say it all the time: "I've wanted a plush of my OC for years." If that's you, send us what you have. A ref sheet, a commissioned drawing, a few sketches, or just the idea in words. We can make your character in another size, change the outfit colors, add accessories or small details, and sew other characters from your world in the same style.

You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. The character stays yours; we only make the plush.

Materials used

Kara is made from soft fleece, filled with stuffing, and finished with embroidery. No plastic eyes, no printed face.

The embroidery is what makes her look like the drawing. Her amber eyes with their white highlights, the dark brows and the marking across her face are all stitched by hand, so nothing can snag or fall off when she rides along in a bag.

Everything we use is safe and eco-friendly. For your own OC we can change the size, the colors, the outfit and the accessories. Tell us what matters most when you ask for a quote.

Lead time

A character doll like Kara usually takes 2–4 weeks to make. The range leaves room for the surprises handmade work always brings.

Most of that time goes into turning a flat drawing into a shape that sits and holds together: the pattern for a big chibi head, hair layers cut so they fall the right way, and a face embroidered stitch by stitch until the eyes look like the artist's.

You get photos of the finished doll before she's packed. If something doesn't match your character, we fix it and you look again.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Once your doll leaves us, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and how quickly your customs office works.

Around Christmas and other holidays the post slows down everywhere, so allow extra time if she has to arrive by a certain day.

An OC plush makes a great gift for the person who invented the character: a birthday, the day a story or comic is finished, or just because. If you have a date in mind, tell us when you ask for a quote. We'll say straight away whether it fits, before any sewing starts.

An original character is personal. Its creator knows every strand of hair and every stitch that belongs on the face, and a doll that gets them wrong isn't really that character. That's why you see photos of the finished toy before it ships, and it leaves us only when you say it's right.

If she arrives and you don't love her, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason at all.
