This giant teddy bear mascot is close to 1.5 meters tall, about 5 feet. A company asked us for it in 2016. Their brand character, a round white bear with a blue nose, lived only on paper, and they wanted the real thing standing at their exhibition stand.
So we made one. Made to order, from their art, for that stand. There was no warehouse bear to pick from. Every mascot we make starts with someone's drawing.
From a character sheet to a life-size bear
The client sent a sheet with the bear in several poses: with a backpack, with a balloon, holding a little crescent moon on a string. Front and back. The toy took the moon.
A flat cartoon doesn't tell you how deep a belly is or how a head that big stays up. We worked that out in the pattern. The bear got a heavy round head, a big soft belly, wide feet to stand on and open five-finger hands with blue pads. The small stitched patch on the forehead from the drawing is there too. In his hand hangs a yellow crescent moon with the client's logo embroidered on it.
What happened at the show
About a year later the client sent us photos from the exhibition. The stand was built as a night sky: dark blue velvet, a painted blue tree, stars, a glowing moon, lanterns at the bear's feet. Our white bear stood in the middle of it, next to shelves of the company's products. We loved how the stand turned out.
That's the job of a big mascot. People stop, take a photo, and your character goes home in their phones.

The bear is sewn from soft white plush, with blue and grey details matched to the character art. At this size it reads as a giant toy, not a costume: nobody is inside, it stands on its own feet.

A mascot plush usually takes 2–4 weeks. A bear this size can take longer, because everything about it is bigger: the pattern pieces, the stuffing, the time it takes to shape the head.
Most of the work is in the pattern. A character sheet shows the front and the back but not the depth, so we decide how round the head is, how the arms hang and how wide the feet must be for the bear to stand. Then the sewing, then the face.
Our estimate already includes a reserve for surprises. If the mascot has to be ready for a trade show, tell us the date when you ask for a quote.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on the country, the carrier and customs. Couriers slow down around big holidays, so leave extra time.
Exhibitions don't move. Count back from the day the stand is built, not from opening day, and add the making time to the shipping. For year-end events, order by November 1.
A 5-foot bear makes a big parcel. We pack large toys so they arrive in shape, and you see photos of the finished mascot before it ships.
